We are currently seeking an individual as a Junior Electrical Technologist to contribute to our projects. Responsibilities

• Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, illustrations for primarily distribution projects ranging in voltage from 14.4kV to 35kV including overhead and underground. Work would mainly include overhead structure design, electrical and structural/dimensional calculations, field work, drawings, material lists, and work instructions.
• Willing to assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis supporting the business development and project management departments
• Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, and project calculations
• Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, and assist team leads and managers.
• Use CAD software and computer-aided design methods to solve problems and prepare drawings
• Perform site visits to various locations. Collect on-site data as required to support the design process. 

Requirements

• A Diploma in electrical engineering technology – power option preferred
• Distribution design experience in the electrical utility industry preferred
• Knowledge of Power Transmission and Distribution networks and standards an asset
• Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, and ability to quickly learn and efficiently use new software
• Experience with BC Hydro's design systems and standards an asset
• Class 5 driver's license
